KARACHI: Aram Bagh Police carried out a successful operation against the illegal sale and distribution of gutka and mawa, recovering a large consignment and arresting two suspects.

During the operation, police searched a vehicle and recovered 11 sacks containing 2,750 packets of gutka and mawa, with a total weight of approximately 90 kilograms.

The arrested suspects were identified as Umair Ali, son of Muhammad Ali, and Abdul Qadir, son of Muhammad Sadiq. According to police, the suspects were attempting to transport and supply the banned products in the vehicle.

The recovered gutka and mawa were taken into police custody, and a case has been registered against the accused at Aram Bagh Police Station under FIR No. 283/2026 pursuant to Section 8(1) of the Sindh Gutka and Mawa (Prohibition) Act, 2019.

The suspects have been handed over to the investigation wing for further legal proceedings and inquiry.
