ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced the largest increase in the history of liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices, significantly raising the sale price for July.
According to an official notification issued by OGRA, the LNG sale price has been increased by up to US$6.45 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) for the month.
Following the revision, the LNG sale price on the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) system has been set at US$25.83 per MMBtu, while the price on the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) system has been fixed at US$25.80 per MMBtu.
The revised prices will apply in accordance with the regulatory notification issued for July.
LNG prices are reviewed periodically by OGRA based on import costs, contractual pricing arrangements, and other relevant factors affecting the supply of liquefied natural gas.
The latest increase is expected to have implications for gas consumers and industries that rely on LNG, although the extent of its impact will depend on applicable tariff structures and government policies.
The notification marks one of the most significant adjustments in Pakistan’s LNG pricing framework, reflecting changes in international market conditions and import-related costs.
