Karachi: Police in Karachi’s Keamari District have claimed to have arrested an alleged repeat offender following an exchange of fire with police in the Saeedabad area late Wednesday night.

According to a statement issued by the Keamari Police spokesperson, the suspect, identified as Ali Gul, son of Dodo Khan, was injured and arrested after a reported gun battle with police near Sector 4E, Saeedabad. Police said one of his alleged accomplices managed to escape.

Officials stated that an illegal pistol, ammunition, and a motorcycle were recovered from the suspect at the time of his arrest.

Police alleged that during initial interrogation, the suspect confessed to involvement in multiple street crime and robbery incidents. They further claimed he was wanted in four separate cases reported in the Baldia Division during July 2026.

According to the police statement, the suspect is accused of involvement in the following incidents:

  • July 21, 2026: Allegedly robbed a man identified as Akhtar near A25 Bus Stop, Saeedabad. The case was registered at Saeedabad Police Station (FIR No. 320/26).
  • July 24, 2026: Allegedly stole a motorcycle from Eid Gah Mor, Ittehad Town. The case was registered at Ittehad Town Police Station (FIR No. 236/26).
  • July 11, 2026: Allegedly robbed a man named Khadim near Jhangvi Chowk, Ittehad Town. The case was registered under FIR No. 222/26.
  • July 5, 2026: Allegedly robbed Ali Nawaz in Qaimkhani Colony. The case was registered at Ittehad Town Police Station (FIR No. 205/26).

Police also said the suspect has a criminal record and listed several previous cases registered against him at Ittehad Town, Saeedabad, Landhi, and Sukhan police stations, involving allegations of robbery, armed robbery, illegal possession of weapons, dacoity, and attacks on police.

Authorities added that additional cases have been registered against the arrested suspect and his absconding accomplice under police encounter and Sindh Arms Act provisions, and further investigation is underway.

The allegations made by the police have not been independently verified, and the suspect’s guilt will be determined through the judicial process.
