At a dignified farewell ceremony held at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Islamabad, outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza asserted that Pakistan’s defence is impregnable and firmly secured by the sacrifices and dedication of its armed forces.
The ceremony, organized in honor of General Sahir Shamshad Mirza’s retirement, featured a smartly turned-out contingent from all three branches of the military presenting him with a Guard of Honour. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the event was attended by former Chairmen Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee as well as senior officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
ISPR noted that General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has rendered an illustrious 40 years of service in the Pakistan Army, contributing significantly to national defence and military leadership.
In his farewell address, General Mirza expressed gratitude to Allah for granting him the ability to serve the nation with sincerity, dedication, and professional excellence. He paid glowing tribute to the unmatched sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the defence of the motherland. He also offered heartfelt respect to the martyrs and their families, acknowledging their critical role in strengthening Pakistan’s security.
General Mirza emphasized that a strong national defence forms the backbone of national security. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s defence remains invincible and praised the unwavering commitment of the country’s brave officers and soldiers, stating that they stand ever ready to reinforce the security and sovereignty of the nation.
