Gilgit-Baltistan: The Gilgit-Baltistan government’s five-year constitutional term has come to an end, leading to the dissolution of the assembly.
Following the completion of the term, Justice (Retired) Yar Muhammad Khan has been appointed as the caretaker Chief Minister. The Chief Election Commissioner has issued the official notification regarding this appointment.
The government’s five-year term concluded at midnight, after which administrative affairs were handed over to the caretaker setup.
The caretaker government will oversee the assembly elections, which will be conducted in Gilgit-Baltistan under the provisions of the Federal Election Act, 2017.
