SUKKUR: Director Health Sukkur Division Dr Farrukh Imtiaz Bhambhro visited the Sindh Government Anwar Piracha Hospital to review healthcare services and administrative arrangements, following special directives from Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho.

He was accompanied by Additional Director Health Dr Masroor Zia Shah and Medical Superintendent Dr Asad Sarwar Soomro during the inspection.

The visiting team toured various departments of the hospital, including the Outpatient Department (OPD), Dental Department, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department, store and laboratory. They reviewed the quality of medical services, availability of medicines and the hospital’s overall management.

During the visit, Dr Bhambhro instructed the hospital administration to ensure the effective implementation of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures, further strengthen infection control programmes, promote health education and public awareness, maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and pay special attention to patient care.

The Director Health appreciated the hospital administration for providing medical treatment and medicines to more than 400 OPD patients daily. He commended the performance of Medical Superintendent Dr Asad Sarwar Soomro and praised the teamwork, dedication and efforts of the hospital staff.

Dr Bhambhro noted that the hospital building is quite old and requires renovation and rehabilitation in line with modern healthcare standards. He assured the administration of his full support in this regard and also pledged assistance to make the hospital’s X-ray machine operational at the earliest.

He emphasised that the hospital should continue its efforts to provide timely, quality and efficient healthcare services while further improving its administrative and medical systems for the benefit of patients.
