SUKKUR: Members of the Kalhoro community staged a protest outside the Sukkur Press Club, alleging illegal occupation of their home, blockage of their access road, and inaction by the police. The protesters appealed to the authorities for justice and protection.
The demonstration was attended by Abdul Ghaffar Kalhoro, his wife Mai Javedan Kalhoro, their children, and sons Naseebullah Kalhoro and Najeebullah Kalhoro.
Speaking to the media, the family alleged that Ajeeb Kalhoro, along with his associates, had illegally occupied their house and filled in drainage channels, blocking the only access route to their property and causing them serious hardship.
The protesters said they had submitted several complaints to the police but claimed that no effective action had been taken. They alleged that the lack of action had left their lives and property at risk.
The family further alleged that the SHO of Sangi Police Station was supporting the opposing party, claiming that this had emboldened the accused to issue threats and that they feared they could be harmed at any time.
The protesters appealed to the Inspector General of Sindh Police, DIG Sukkur, SSP Sukkur, Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, and other relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the matter, initiate legal proceedings against those they accused, remove the alleged illegal occupation, reopen the access route, and provide justice and security to the affected family.
The allegations made by the protesters could not be independently verified, and no response from the police or the individuals named in the allegations was immediately available.
