Swat: A joint operation by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Matta area of Swat resulted in the deaths of four suspected militants, while an Elite Force constable was killed during the operation, according to security sources.
Sources said the operation was carried out in the Rashid Sar area, where security forces successfully secured control of a strategic location after engaging the suspected militants.
According to the sources, the four suspected militants allegedly took shelter inside a house and used members of the family as human shields during the operation.
Security officials said Elite Force Constable Gulfam was killed in the exchange of fire.
The CTD operation was reported to be continuing at the time of the statement, with security forces conducting further clearance activities in the area.
Officials said law enforcement agencies would continue operations against militant groups until the area is fully secured.
The official statement used the term “Khawarij” to refer to the militants. This terminology reflects the wording used by Pakistani authorities.
No independent verification of the reported death toll or other operational details was immediately available. Further information is expected as the operation progresses.
