Islamabad: Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan has urged the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), particularly the youth, to exercise their right to vote responsibly in the upcoming elections, describing the vote as a trust that will determine the region’s future.

In a video message, Aleem Khan said elections are not merely about changing governments but about shaping the future of coming generations, promoting regional development and improving public welfare. He appealed to voters to cast their ballots with responsibility, political awareness and the national interest in mind.

He stressed that sustainable development and economic stability in AJK require the creation of effective local revenue-generation mechanisms. According to Aleem Khan, major development projects and public welfare initiatives cannot be fully realised unless the region strengthens its economy and increases its own income.

The IPP leader also highlighted the need to encourage both domestic and foreign investment by creating a business-friendly environment. He said increased investment would stimulate industry and commerce, expand economic activity and generate dignified employment opportunities, particularly for young men and women.

Aleem Khan described tourism as one of AJK’s greatest economic assets, saying the region’s natural beauty and scenic valleys provide enormous potential for growth. He said modernising tourism infrastructure and encouraging investment in the sector would increase government revenue, strengthen the local economy and create thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

He urged voters to consider long-term development rather than personal loyalties or campaign slogans when casting their ballots. He also advised the public to assess candidates based on their performance, integrity and commitment to public service rather than relying on promises that have remained unfulfilled in the past.

Addressing young voters, Aleem Khan encouraged them not only to vote themselves but also to motivate their parents and other family members to participate in the democratic process. He said young people should help raise political awareness within their families and support candidates who demonstrate honesty, merit and a clear vision for development.

He further called on citizens to review their area’s challenges, past governance and unfulfilled commitments before making their electoral choice.

Aleem Khan said the people of Azad Kashmir have a historic opportunity to elect leadership capable of delivering a brighter, more prosperous and more developed future for the region. He reiterated that the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party would continue working for public service, economic stability, transparent governance, employment opportunities for youth, investment promotion and the overall development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
