Sukkur (Bureau Report): The Sindh Athletics Association, in collaboration with Lok Sahata, organised a successful Athletics Summer Camp at IBA Public School Sukkur, attracting the participation of more than 100 male and female students. Certificates were awarded to successful participants at the closing ceremony.
The event was attended by Shabbir Memon of Pakistan Sweet Home and Dr Ali Gohar Chang, Principal of IBA Public School Sukkur, as chief guests.
The camp was coordinated by Agha Haroon as focal person, with Sana Rafiq and Saleem Ahmed serving as coordinators. Coaching sessions were conducted by Abdul Baqi and Alisha. Other distinguished guests included Madam Huma Rizwan, Azra Jamal, and Dr Saeed Awan.
Addressing the ceremony, Shabbir Memon and Dr Ali Gohar Chang emphasised the importance of encouraging children and young people to return to sports at a time when excessive mobile gaming and screen use have become increasingly common.
They said sports not only contribute to physical fitness but also enhance mental development, discipline, confidence and the spirit of healthy competition. They added that initiatives such as athletics summer camps provide students with valuable opportunities to engage in positive and constructive activities while promoting teamwork and a healthy lifestyle.
The ceremony concluded with appreciation for the efforts of the organisers, coaches and volunteers, followed by the distribution of participation certificates among the students.
