SANGHAR: A major accident was narrowly avoided after a large section of the ceiling plaster suddenly collapsed at the WAPDA Sub-Division Office in Sanghar.
According to local sources, the incident occurred when most WAPDA employees were away from the office, participating in a rally against the proposed privatization of WAPDA, preventing what could have been a serious tragedy.
Fortunately, no casualties or property damage were reported in the incident.
Following the collapse, employees and local residents expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of the office building and urged the authorities to conduct an immediate structural inspection.
They also demanded that repair and maintenance work be carried out without delay to prevent any future accidents and ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
Sources said the relevant authorities have been informed about the incident, and further measures are expected to be taken to assess the building’s structural integrity and improve safety at the premises.
