BADIN: Leaders and workers of the National Awami Tehreek (QAT) and Sindhiani Tehreek staged a protest outside the National Press Club Badin, calling for the protection of Sindh’s identity, resources, and the rule of law.
The demonstration was attended by Adi Sindhu Panhwar, Bakhtawar Jamali, Shazia Ahmedani, Faiza Talpur, Abdullah Chandio, Azizullah Deero, M. Somar Mallah, Wajid Samoon, Ghulam Haider Bukhari, Syed Zain Shah, and other party leaders.
Addressing the protesters, the speakers said that the “Strong Sindh Campaign” is being conducted across the province from June 10 to July 31 to strengthen Sindh’s national identity, unity, development, and protection of its resources.
They said the campaign aims to create national awareness among the people of Sindh, encourage unity beyond caste, tribal, and political differences, and mobilize collective efforts to safeguard the province’s rights, natural resources, culture, language, and history.
The leaders urged the public to promote the values of unity, peace, and brotherhood and work together for a better future for coming generations.
They also expressed concern over the alleged abduction and killing of girls, encroachments on Sindh’s natural resources, and disputes over water resources, saying such issues threaten the future of the Sindhi people.
The protesters demanded the establishment of the rule of law, stating that ordinary citizens are not receiving justice. They reiterated their commitment to a peaceful and prosperous Sindh and a democratic Pakistan based on equality, justice, and the supremacy of law, while rejecting what they described as the dominance of feudalism.
