HYDERABAD: Dr. Saeed Hashemi, Cultural Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Director of Khana-e-Farhang Iran Hyderabad, visited the Pakistan Press Club (Registered) Islamabad, Hyderabad District Branch, where he received a warm welcome from journalists and office-bearers.
On the occasion, President of the Pakistan Press Club Hyderabad, senior journalist Inqalabi Jahanzeb Ali Katiyar, presented Dr. Hashemi with a traditional Sindhi Ajrak and a commemorative shield, while General Secretary Danish Qazi welcomed him with a bouquet.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Hashemi thanked the office-bearers and members of the press club for their hospitality. He said the media plays a vital role in delivering accurate information to the public, creating awareness, and highlighting facts. He praised Pakistani journalists for carrying out their professional responsibilities with dedication, integrity, and commitment.
He said Pakistan and Iran share centuries-old religious, cultural, and brotherly relations, adding that the people of both countries have close historical ties. He noted that Khana-e-Farhang Iran Hyderabad is organizing cultural activities as well as courses in computer skills, calligraphy, and the Persian language to strengthen educational, literary, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Dr. Hashemi also paid tribute to the journalists associated with the Pakistan Press Club and expressed special appreciation for President Jahanzeb Ali Katiyar for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him.
Speaking on the occasion, Jahanzeb Ali Katiyar said journalism serves as a strong bridge between the public and institutions, adding that the media can play an important role in promoting cultural and literary relations between Pakistan and Iran. He assured that the Pakistan Press Club Hyderabad would continue to provide extensive coverage of the cultural, literary, and social activities organized by Khana-e-Farhang Iran and would work to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity in Pakistan, as well as for unity and solidarity in the Muslim world.
