RIYADH: Iranian state media, citing unnamed sources, has claimed that Prince Sultan Air Base in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, was targeted in a missile attack.
According to Iranian media reports, the air base had been hosting U.S. Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft, which it alleged were used to support recent American military operations against Iran.
The reports described the base as a key facility involved in providing logistical support for U.S. air operations. However, no independent confirmation of the reported strike or its impact has been provided.
Meanwhile, Saudi Civil Defense said that the threats to Yanbu and Al Kharj had been resolved, without providing further details on the nature of the incident.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation from Saudi authorities or the United States verifying the Iranian media’s claim that the air base was struck.
The situation remains developing, and further official information is awaited.
