Ghotki: Tufail Rand, General Secretary of Mirpur Mathelo Press Club, was shot dead in a targeted attack.
According to police, Tufail Rand was on his way to drop children at school when unidentified assailants opened fire on him. The incident occurred on Jarwar Road, Maso Wah area of Mirpur Mathelo.
Police confirmed that Tufail Rand succumbed to his injuries, and his body was transferred to DHQ Hospital, Mirpur Mathelo. Investigations into the incident are underway.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed grief over the killing, stating that attacks on journalists are attacks on press freedom. He has requested a detailed report from the Inspector General of Police regarding the incident.
