MATIARI: A resident of Sanghar Somro village near Shahpur Darpur has alleged that his son was assaulted and falsely implicated in a criminal case by suspected drug dealers, urging senior police officials to investigate the matter and take legal action.
Addressing a press conference at the City Press Club Matiari, Ali Nawaz Gabol, accompanied by his elderly father Muhammad Nawaz Gabol, claimed that his son Mumtaz Gabol was allegedly subjected to severe physical assault by Ayub Gorchani and his associates, identified as Noor Khan Gorchani, Sikandar Gorchani, and Darya Khan Gorchani.
Ali Nawaz Gabol further alleged that after the incident, a false case was registered against his son at Shahpur Darpur Police Station. He said his family belonged to a poor background and claimed that they had not received justice despite approaching the local police.
He also alleged that drug trafficking had become widespread in the village and accused the suspected drug dealers of involving local youth in narcotics. According to him, anyone who opposes their activities allegedly faces intimidation and criminal cases.
The protesters appealed to the Inspector General of Sindh Police, the DIG Hyderabad Range, and the SSP Matiari to order an impartial inquiry, arrest those allegedly involved in drug trafficking, and withdraw what they described as a false case against their family.
