MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Home Secretary Chaudhry Guftar Hussain has said that the ongoing operation will continue until all highways across the region are fully cleared, while alleging that a banned organization is attempting to promote an anti-Pakistan narrative.
Addressing a press conference, the Home Secretary claimed that armed miscreants opened indiscriminate fire on civilians in Rawalakot, describing the incident as an unprovoked attack.
He alleged that members of the banned organization had been threatening traders and forcing markets to shut down, accusing the group of using protests as a means of intimidation, blackmail, and propaganda.
Chaudhry Guftar Hussain further claimed that students, women, and children were being used as human shields during the demonstrations. He said the people of Azad Kashmir had rejected what he described as the disruptive agenda of the group.
“The operation will continue until all roads and highways are completely cleared,” he stated.
The Home Secretary also said attempts were being made to undermine the historic relationship between Pakistan and Kashmir, alleging that the banned organization was seeking to advance an anti-Pakistan narrative.
Meanwhile, the AJK Secretary for Education condemned the involvement of schoolchildren and female students in protest activities. He said educational institutions had been instructed to ensure that students remain away from all forms of protests and political demonstrations.
