BADIN: Deputy Commissioner Yasir Bhatti chaired an important meeting at the Gymkhana in Badin to review the performance of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), assessing the progress of vaccination campaigns across the district and taluka levels.
During the meeting, officials conducted a detailed review of vaccination coverage. Vaccinators who demonstrated outstanding performance were appreciated, while those with unsatisfactory results were asked to explain their shortcomings and were directed to improve their performance.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Yasir Bhatti said the primary objective of the meeting was to evaluate the performance of vaccinators and remind them of their professional responsibilities. He stressed that government-assigned duties must be carried out with honesty, dedication, and within the prescribed timelines.
He warned that if any child contracts a vaccine-preventable disease due to failure to administer routine immunization in a union council, the concerned vaccinator would be held accountable.
The Deputy Commissioner acknowledged that many vaccinators in the district were performing their duties efficiently but said the negligence of a few employees was affecting the overall performance of the district’s immunization programme.
He emphasized that every vaccinator must have complete knowledge of vaccine schedules, administration procedures, and immunization timelines to ensure that no child is deprived of life-saving vaccines.
Yasir Bhatti further stated that vaccinating children is not only a government responsibility but also a humanitarian duty and an important public service. He warned that making fake entries or submitting false vaccination data is a serious offence and said strict legal and departmental action would be taken against anyone found involved in such malpractice.
The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Zahid Hussain Solangi, Assistant Commissioner Badin Rajesh Dalpat, District Information Officer Sarfraz Samoon, Additional District Health Officer Dr. Mumtaz Chandio, PPHI District Manager Tahir Lashari, N-STOP Officer Dr. Karim Bux Gaddahi, Additional District Health Officer Dr. Waseem Abbas Khawaja, Dr. Sanaullah, vaccination in-charges from district and taluka levels, and a large number of vaccinators.
