WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has once again asserted that the United States defeated Iran in conflict and described the American military as the most powerful in the world, while expressing optimism about relations with Tehran.

Speaking before departing for the NATO summit, Trump said that developments concerning Iran were moving in a positive direction, although he did not provide further details.

He also praised the performance of the U.S. military, describing it as unmatched in strength and capability.

Shares Post Praising His Support for Israel

Trump also shared a social media post by the Israel Heritage Foundation and an Israeli minister that praised his policies toward Israel.

The post described Trump as one of Israel’s strongest allies and highlighted his role in issues relating to Jerusalem, Iran, and the Abraham Accords, the agreements aimed at normalizing relations between Israel and several Arab states.

Departs for NATO Summit

Meanwhile, Trump departed for Turkey to attend the two-day NATO leaders’ summit.

Speaking to reporters before leaving, he referred to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as a friend and a respected leader, saying his visit was being made in recognition of Erdoğan.
