KARACHI, July 6: Residents of Manghopir Town and surrounding areas have received a major public service boost with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art NADRA Mega Center in Surjani Town. The newly established facility is expected to benefit hundreds of thousands of citizens by providing easy access to identity registration and documentation services without requiring long-distance travel.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sindh Governor as the chief guest, along with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Masroor Ahsan, Manghopir Town Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi, Vice Chairman Rana Muhammad Arif, Union Committee-07 Chairman Umeed Ali Qazi, Vice Chairman Hafiz Syed Imran Ali, and a large number of political leaders, social figures, and local residents.

During the ceremony, Manghopir Town Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi presented the Sindh Governor and Senator Masroor Ahsan with the traditional Sindhi Ajrak, a cultural symbol of hospitality and respect.

Speaking to the media after the inauguration, Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi described the establishment of the NADRA Mega Center as a historic milestone for the residents of Manghopir Town and the wider District West.

He said the project fulfilled one of the administration’s long-standing commitments to provide essential public services closer to people’s homes.

“We are fulfilling the promises we made to the people one by one,” Brohi said. “Today, a long-awaited dream has become a reality. Residents will no longer have to travel for hours to obtain identity cards or other essential documents. Our mission is to deliver public services at the doorstep of citizens and ensure practical solutions to their everyday problems.”

The chairman emphasized that the new Mega Center is much more than a government office, describing it as a comprehensive public service facility equipped with modern systems to provide fast, transparent, and efficient services.

According to Brohi, citizens will now be able to obtain a wide range of NADRA services under one roof, including the issuance of new Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), renewal of identity cards, correction of personal records, Child Registration Certificates (B-Forms), Family Registration Certificates (FRCs), and other legal identity documents.

He noted that the center would significantly reduce both the time and financial burden faced by residents who previously had to travel to distant NADRA offices for routine documentation services.

“The establishment of this Mega Center will save valuable time and resources for thousands of families,” he said. “People will now receive high-quality services within their own locality.”

Highlighting the town administration’s broader development agenda, Brohi said public service initiatives in Manghopir Town have continued for years and would be accelerated further in the future.

He revealed that a dedicated help desk has also been established within the center to assist visitors and ensure that citizens face no unnecessary difficulties while completing documentation procedures.

“The facility has been designed to provide complete guidance and support to applicants,” he explained. “Whether someone needs a Smart National Identity Card, NICOP, POC, or wishes to make legal amendments to their records, all these services will now be available under one roof.”

Brohi reiterated his administration’s commitment to expanding public welfare projects throughout Manghopir Town.

“We remain determined to fulfill every promise made to our people,” he said. “This Mega Center is only one step in our broader vision of improving civic services. More development and welfare projects will be introduced for the benefit of our residents.”

Officials said the NADRA Mega Center has been equipped with the latest technology and digital systems to ensure faster processing of applications and efficient delivery of services.

The advanced infrastructure is expected to improve customer experience by minimizing waiting times while enhancing the speed and accuracy of document processing.

Participants at the inauguration ceremony praised the initiative and described it as a transformative development for District West.

Local residents expressed satisfaction over the opening of the facility, saying it would spare them lengthy journeys and make essential government services more accessible.

Community leaders and attendees also acknowledged the efforts of Manghopir Town Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi and the local administration in bringing the project to completion, calling it an important step toward improving public service delivery and strengthening civic infrastructure in one of Karachi’s rapidly growing urban areas.

The newly inaugurated NADRA Mega Center is expected to serve as a key administrative hub for identity-related services, providing modern, efficient, and citizen-friendly facilities to the growing population of Surjani Town, Manghopir, and neighboring localities.
