Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Saturday visited the projects for the extension of Margalla Road to motorway and the Sangjani Interchange to review the ongoing construction work.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said these projects will provide the citizens of Islamabad with an alternative, efficient route to the motorway upon completion.
To ensure rapid execution, the Interior Minister directed authorities to accelerate the pace of construction and maintain double-shift operations. He directed that work on projects must be completed by the end of this year at all costs.
Mohsin Naqvi also directed the Deputy Commissioner to clear all encroachments within one week and ordered the immediate removal of any obstacles delaying the completion.
Earlier, during the briefing, the Interior Minister was informed that the total length of the Margalla Road to Sangjani Interchange project is 2.7 kilometres, which includes an underpass and an interchange.
