An important review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and Secretary Interior regarding the security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
In the meeting, Home Secretaries and police officials of all the provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan participated.
During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given on the security plan prepared for the processions and gatherings of Muharram-ul-Haram and a comprehensive review of the overall arrangements was taken.
The meeting emphasized on establishing law and order and ensuring foolproof security during Muharram.
Talal Chaudhry said protection of lives and property of citizens during Muharram is the first responsibility of the government.
Talal Chaudhry said the federal government has assured the provinces of all possible cooperation and instructed them to provide the necessary assistance.
Talal Chaudhry instructed the home secretaries and law enforcement agencies to make security measures more effective
