Warah: The families of two students allegedly taken into custody and subsequently reported missing have demanded their immediate release and called on authorities to clarify their whereabouts.
Addressing a press conference at the Warah Press Club, family members including Raja Ghibyani, Mustafa Ghibyani, and Gulab Ghibyani Chandio appealed to higher authorities to intervene and ensure the safe return of the missing individuals.
According to the families, Sadaqat Chandio, a ninth-grade student at a private school in Karachi, and Tariq Chandio, a student of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University College, were allegedly taken away during a late-night operation conducted around 2:00 a.m. three days ago in village Lashkar Khan Lashari, located within the jurisdiction of Gaji Police Station.
The relatives claimed that police personnel accompanied by individuals in plain clothes carried out the raid and took the students into custody. They alleged that since then, no information has been provided regarding the students’ whereabouts.
The families stated that they are ordinary working people striving to educate their children and argued that if the students are accused of any offense, authorities should formally acknowledge their arrest and proceed according to the law.
“If there is any allegation against them, their arrest should be declared and legal action should be taken under Pakistan’s laws,” the family members said during the press conference.
They added that the failure to disclose the detainees’ status has caused severe distress among relatives and has created an atmosphere of anxiety within the household.
The speakers also alleged that two residents of the Lashari community, 60-year-old Ghulam Qadir Lashari and Ali Gohar Lashari, were similarly taken into custody and have not been produced before any court or publicly identified by authorities.
The families urged senior government officials, law enforcement agencies, and human rights institutions to take notice of the matter and ensure the release of what they described as innocent students and elderly members of the Lashari community.
As of now, no official statement from the police or relevant authorities regarding the allegations has been reported. The families continue to seek information about the missing individuals and have called for immediate action to resolve the situation.
