Hyderabad, June 8, 2026: Hyderabad Police have claimed to have arrested two suspected drug dealers following an early-morning police encounter near Tando Yousuf New Road, according to an official statement issued by the District Police spokesperson.
The incident reportedly occurred during routine police patrol operations when Tando Yousuf Police received information regarding the presence of suspected criminals in the area. Acting on the tip-off, a police team moved to the location to conduct a raid.
According to the police statement, the suspects allegedly opened fire upon seeing the police party, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the two sides. During the reported encounter, two suspects were injured and subsequently taken into custody, while several of their alleged accomplices managed to escape from the scene.
The arrested individuals were identified as Saqib alias Ladla and Adil alias Pakora. Both suspects sustained injuries during the exchange of fire and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and examination.
Police officials stated that two pistols and a quantity of charas (hashish) were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects during the operation. The seized weapons and narcotics have been taken into custody as evidence.
Following the arrests, Tando Yousuf Police registered four separate cases against the suspects. The charges reportedly include possession of illegal weapons, narcotics-related offenses, and involvement in a police encounter.
Authorities said efforts are underway to gather additional information about the suspects, including their previous criminal records and possible links to drug trafficking networks operating in the area. Investigators are also attempting to identify and trace the individuals who escaped during the operation.
