ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder عمران خان, has alleged that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s associate Suhail Afridi met Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi without informing the family.
Speaking to the media, Aleema Khan said the meeting took place without the knowledge of عمران خان’s family and claimed that no family representative was present during the discussions.
“Barrister Gohar and Suhail Afridi met Mohsin Naqvi without informing us,” she said. “Our family had no knowledge of this meeting, and no member of the family was present there.”
Her remarks have sparked political discussion within PTI circles regarding the purpose and timing of the meeting.
Meanwhile, PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed during a conversation with Geo News that the meeting between Barrister Gohar, Suhail Afridi, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi did indeed take place.
According to Sheikh Waqas Akram, the meeting was held on May 14 and focused on matters related to law and order.
He clarified that the discussions were related to security and public order issues and stated that no member of PTI founder عمران خان’s family attended the meeting.
“The meeting took place on May 14 in which issues relating to law and order were discussed,” Sheikh Waqas Akram said.
The development comes at a time when PTI continues to face internal political challenges and ongoing tensions with the government. Meetings involving senior PTI leaders and government officials often attract significant political attention due to the current political climate in the country.
Neither Barrister Gohar nor Mohsin Naqvi has publicly commented in detail regarding the nature of the discussions beyond the statements issued by party representatives.
Political observers believe the controversy highlights differences within PTI regarding communication and decision-making, particularly in matters concerning negotiations or interactions with government officials.
The PTI leadership has recently been involved in discussions on political stability, security matters, and legal challenges faced by party members and leadership.
Further reactions from party leaders and the Khan family are expected as the issue continues to draw media and political attention.
