FAISALABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister and Senator Rana Sanaullah has clarified that no constitutional or legal amendment is under consideration that would deprive the younger generation of their right to vote.
Speaking to the media in Faisalabad, Rana Sanaullah dismissed reports and speculation regarding any move aimed at restricting voting rights for young citizens. He emphasized that the democratic rights of the youth remain fully protected under the Constitution.
“There is no such amendment under consideration that seeks to take away the voting rights of the younger generation,” he stated.
The senior political leader also spoke about Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond. He said the country’s political and military leadership is actively working to contribute toward global peace efforts.
“Pakistan’s political and military leadership is striving to promote peace throughout the world,” Rana Sanaullah said, adding that many countries are currently looking toward this region with hopes for stability and peace.
He noted that the changing regional situation has increased the importance of diplomatic engagement and cooperation among nations. According to him, Pakistan is playing a constructive role in encouraging dialogue and reducing tensions at both regional and international levels.
Rana Sanaullah’s remarks come amid political discussions and public debate surrounding electoral reforms and democratic participation in Pakistan. His statement appeared aimed at addressing concerns circulating on social media and in political circles regarding possible changes related to voting eligibility.
Political analysts say the clarification may help counter uncertainty among young voters, who make up a significant portion of Pakistan’s electorate. Youth participation has become increasingly important in recent elections, with political parties focusing heavily on mobilizing young voters through campaigns and digital outreach.
The adviser reiterated that democratic continuity, constitutional rights, and political stability are essential for the country’s progress and development.
He further stressed that Pakistan’s institutions are united in efforts to ensure national security, economic stability, and peace in the region amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
Rana Sanaullah concluded by expressing hope that cooperation between political and state institutions would continue to strengthen Pakistan’s position internationally while safeguarding democratic values at home.
