Meta has quietly launched a new Facebook-linked application called “Forum,” according to recent reports. The app is currently available in select countries for iPhone users and appears to be in an early testing phase.

According to its description, the app is designed to enable “meaningful conversations,” provide “real answers,” and help users join communities based on their interests. The concept closely resembles platforms like Reddit and Quora, where users can ask questions and receive responses from community members.

By default, Forum displays content from Facebook Groups, with recommendations tailored to users’ interests. The app essentially aims to bring Facebook’s community-based discussions into a more focused and structured environment.

Meta says the app is especially designed for people who manage Facebook Groups. It also introduces a new AI-powered admin assistant that can help group administrators manage communities and moderate content more efficiently.

The company emphasized that the purpose of Forum is to connect users with real people to get authentic answers and discussions, rather than automated or misleading information.

To use the app, a Facebook account is required, ensuring integration with existing Facebook profiles and communities. Meta’s strategy appears to leverage its massive user base to strengthen engagement through topic-based discussions.

A Meta spokesperson confirmed that Forum is currently in the testing stage, adding that the company regularly experiments with new products to better understand user interests and improve its services.

While still limited in availability, the launch of Forum highlights Meta’s continued effort to compete in the community discussion space dominated by platforms like Reddit, Quora, and other forum-based networks.
