The government has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, providing some relief to consumers amid ongoing economic pressures.
According to the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs6 per litre, while diesel has seen a decrease of Rs6.80 per litre.
Following the official notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the new price of petrol has been set at Rs403.78 per litre, while the new price of diesel stands at Rs402.78 per litre.
Officials noted that this latest adjustment comes shortly after a previous reduction, when the government had already announced a cut of Rs5 per litre in both petrol and diesel prices just last Friday.
The repeated reductions in fuel prices are expected to provide some financial relief to the public, particularly in terms of transportation costs and the prices of essential goods, which are often affected by changes in fuel rates.
However, despite the decrease, fuel prices in Pakistan remain at a relatively high level, and consumers continue to feel the impact on household budgets and overall inflation.
Economic analysts say that international oil market trends, exchange rates, and domestic fiscal considerations all play a role in determining local fuel prices. Any future changes will depend on global crude oil prices and government policy decisions.
