Rawalpindi: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue the fight against terrorism with national resolve until lasting peace and stability are established across the country.
The remarks were made during a prestigious military awards ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army were honored for their bravery and distinguished services.
Field Marshal Asim Munir attended the event as the chief guest.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the ceremony was organized to recognize extraordinary courage shown during military operations and to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by martyrs and veterans of the armed forces.
During the ceremony, the Field Marshal praised the courage, dignity, and resilience of the families of martyrs.
He said the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs represent an everlasting symbol of patriotism and dedication to the motherland.
“Shuhada and Ghazis are the nation’s eternal pride,” he stated.
“The honor and sacrifice of our martyrs are a sacred trust for every Pakistani. The peace and security of the homeland are the result of their great sacrifices and unwavering determination.”
According to ISPR, various military honors were awarded to officers and personnel in recognition of exceptional bravery and outstanding service to the country.
The awards included 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat medals.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also appreciated the operational preparedness and determination of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies engaged in counterterrorism efforts across the country.
He emphasized that the armed forces remain fully committed to protecting Pakistan from internal and external threats.
“The war against terrorism will continue with national determination until durable peace and stability are established in the country,” he said.
Pakistan has faced security challenges and militant violence for many years, particularly in regions bordering Afghanistan and in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Security forces have conducted numerous intelligence-based operations and military campaigns against militant groups in recent years.
Officials frequently credit the sacrifices of soldiers, law enforcement personnel, and civilians for improving the overall security situation in the country.
The ceremony at GHQ highlighted the military’s continued emphasis on honoring fallen personnel and recognizing acts of valor performed during counterterrorism operations.
Families of martyrs, senior military officials, officers, and soldiers attended the event.
Analysts say such ceremonies are intended to boost morale within the armed forces while reinforcing the state’s commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining national security.
The ISPR statement also noted that the recognition of military personnel reflects the nation’s appreciation for those who have rendered exceptional services in defense of Pakistan.
