ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday announced that Gauth AI would provide 4,000 free subscriptions to Pakistan, including 1,000 for teachers at the newly inaugurated Daanish School on Kuri Road in Islamabad, as the government seeks to integrate artificial intelligence and modern technology into the country’s education system.
Speaking at a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Ministry of Education and Gauth AI, the prime minister thanked Gauth AI, ByteDance and TikTok for their cooperation, saying the partnership would open up new opportunities for students, teachers and young people across Pakistan.
He described the agreement as an important step towards educational modernisation and said the government would provide the resources needed to equip young people with modern technological skills.
“Of course, Gauth. This is going to unlock infinite opportunities for our students, our teachers and young generation around all the Pakistan,” he said, expressing particular appreciation for the free subscriptions.
Sharif said the initiative would contribute to the country’s progress and prosperity, adding that the government was committed to scientific and digital reforms in education as part of its Digital Pakistan vision.
What is Gauth AI?
Gauth is an artificial intelligence-powered study companion that helps students solve academic problems and understand concepts through step-by-step explanations.
Students can type a question or upload a photograph of a problem to receive assistance, particularly in mathematics and science subjects such as physics and chemistry. Its additional study tools include AI tutoring, practice questions and revision support.
The platform is designed to help students understand how a problem is solved rather than simply provide an answer. However, AI-generated explanations can contain errors and should be checked against textbooks and teachers’ guidance.
Focus on Daanish Schools
The prime minister said that 1,000 of the 4,000 subscriptions would be allocated to teachers at Daanish School Islamabad, while expressing confidence that the partnership would help improve learning outcomes.
Referring to his visit to the school the other day, PM Sharif praised its principal and teachers for their dedication and said he expected students to perform well in their examinations.
He said the government had provided the school with educational facilities, including laboratories and other resources, and assured students that there would be no shortage of resources for their education.
The prime minister also highlighted the facilities available to students, including boarding and lodging, food and free uniforms, saying the government wanted to empower them through quality education.
Government pledges wider technology reforms
PM Sharif said that aligning the education system with modern requirements and artificial intelligence was essential, adding that young people needed access to advanced information technology and digital skills to prepare for the future.
He said the government would continue working with the provinces to improve educational standards and expand cooperation with international information technology companies.
The prime minister also stressed the importance of maintaining construction standards at Daanish Schools, saying particular attention would be paid to the quality of ongoing building work.
He expressed hope that the partnership with Gauth AI would develop into a long-term relationship and lead to the adoption of further modern techniques and technologies in Pakistan’s education sector.
