KARACHI: Secretary Information of Meri Pehchan Pakistan (MPP) Muhammad Rizwan Khan, along with MPP leaders Abrar Ahmed Siddiqui, Ayan Sameed and others, met Pakistan Awami Party Chairman Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Secretary General Miftah Ismail and Karachi President Sheikh Salahuddin in Karachi. The meeting focused on Pakistan’s political and administrative situation, relations among the federating units, empowered local governments, public concerns and ways to strengthen national unity.

Muhammad Rizwan Khan said that the vision presented by former Governor of Sindh, Nishan-e-Imtiaz recipient and MPP founder Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan regarding new provinces, new administrative units, an empowered local government system and public referendums has received encouraging responses from various political, social and public circles. He said that on major national issues, the people should have the final say, and that national dialogue and public referendums should be pursued through constitutional, democratic and peaceful means.

He said political parties and leaderships, because of their respective interests and priorities, cannot always fully reflect public aspirations. Therefore, direct public participation and opinion should be given greater importance on matters of national significance. He stressed that Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan’s position is not against any political party, province or region, but is aimed at strengthening Pakistan, promoting national unity, improving governance and ensuring greater public participation in decision-making.

Rizwan Khan expressed concern over increasing linguistic, political and administrative tensions in Sindh and called for replacing politics of hatred, prejudice and division with a politics of peace, brotherhood, dialogue and national cohesion. He said Pakistan is our motherland and all provinces are integral and valuable parts of it, adding that national interests must take precedence over ethnic and provincial divisions.

He said the Sindh Assembly should adopt a clear and unequivocal position against separatist ideologies and anti-Pakistan slogans. He further called for effective measures if separatist narratives such as “Sindhudesh” are being promoted in any educational or political circles, stressing that national institutions, universities and government forums should uphold Pakistan’s Constitution, sovereignty and national unity.

Muhammad Rizwan Khan also said that measures being taken for Pakistan’s defence, stability and national cohesion under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are being appreciated by sections of the public. He said stakeholders in Karachi and across Pakistan want effective steps for peace, stability, development and national unity.

The MPP delegation expressed hope that the Pakistan Awami Party would play a constructive role in advancing the broader national interest, democratic stability, public welfare, administrative reforms and national harmony. The delegation reiterated that Meri Pehchan Pakistan stands for love instead of hatred, dialogue instead of confrontation, and unity instead of division, and would continue working to promote this message among the people.

The meeting concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s security, stability, development, national unity and the prosperity of its people.
