Registration for the Prime Minister Fuel Subsidy Scheme has been made easier as the SMS registration service has been made completely free on the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The scheme aims to provide relief to low- and middle-income groups, with fuel subsidies being provided to owners of motorcycles, rickshaws and vehicles with engines up to 800cc.
The relief is being provided across the country, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
How to register?
Eligible citizens can register for the scheme by sending a free SMS to 9771 in the following format: REG [space] CNIC number [space] vehicle number plate [space] first letter of the province of registration [space] vehicle registration date

PM orders public awareness campaign
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Chief Commissioner, Inspector General of Police and administration in Islamabad to remain present in the field and provide maximum guidance to citizens regarding registration and other procedures under the scheme.
He also directed public representatives and volunteers to play their role in guiding citizens.
During a high-level meeting, the prime minister instructed the relevant authorities to launch a comprehensive media awareness campaign about the fuel subsidy scheme.
He directed authorities to accelerate efforts to inform citizens about the scheme’s eligibility criteria and registration procedure through print, electronic, digital and social media.
The prime minister said the government’s objective was to reduce the burden caused by higher petroleum prices and ensure relief reaches those who genuinely deserve it.
He directed authorities to ensure that the benefits of the fuel subsidy scheme reach the maximum number of eligible citizens and that people face no difficulties during registration.
Subsidy details
Under the scheme, motorcycle users will receive a Rs100 per litre subsidy on up to 20 litres of petrol per month.
Owners of vehicles with engines up to 800cc will receive a Rs100 per litre subsidy on up to 30 litres of petrol.
