Sukkur Police Launch Crackdown on Social Evils, 10 Arrested in Gambling and Liquor Cases

Sukkur: Under the directives of SSP Sukkur Azhar Khan, police across Sukkur have intensified operations against social crimes, continuing a strong crackdown on illegal gambling and liquor activities in different areas of the district. During these targeted operations, a total of 10 suspects were arrested, and a large quantity of liquor bottles along with gambling materials was recovered. Cases have been registered against all the accused.

According to police sources, Airport Police Station conducted a successful raid on a gambling den following confidential information. During the operation, seven gamblers were arrested on the spot. The arrested individuals include Mumtaz Khoso, Abid Shaikh, Arshad Malik, Waheed Mahar, Nooruddin Malik, Abdul Jabbar Chohan, and Asghar Khoso.

Police recovered gambling materials including betting slips, various gambling games, and cash from their possession. A case has been registered under the Gambling Act at Airport Police Station (FIR No. 54/2026 under sections 294-A, 294-B, and 5 of the Gambling Act).

In another action, Patni Police during routine checkpoint checking arrested a suspect identified as Inayatullah Brohi. Police recovered 14 bottles of liquor from his possession. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law (FIR No. 40/2026 under sections 3/4 PEHO).

Similarly, A-Section Police conducted an operation within its jurisdiction and arrested two suspects involved in liquor distribution. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sajarat Pathan and Muhammad Hassan Ansari. Police recovered six bottles of liquor from them, and a case has been registered (FIR No. 137/2026 under PEHO).

SSP Sukkur Azhar Khan has appreciated the performance of the police teams involved in these successful operations. He reiterated that strict action against social evils such as gambling and illegal liquor trade will continue without any discrimination.

Police spokesperson Sukkur Police stated that operations against criminal elements will be further intensified to maintain law and order and ensure public safety across the district.
