KARACHI: Amid intense heat, Karachi residents are facing prolonged power outages, with scheduled load shedding exceeding 12 hours in several parts of the city, along with widespread unscheduled outages.

Reports indicate that both announced and unannounced load shedding continues across multiple علاقوں, causing significant hardship for citizens. Areas including Garden, Lyari, North Karachi, New Karachi, Malir, Korangi, and Orangi are experiencing hours-long power cuts. Similar outages have also been reported in Manghopir, Surjani, Sohrab Goth, Baldia Town, and other localities.

Even areas previously considered exempt from load shedding are now facing several hours of unannounced power outages, further intensifying public frustration.

The ongoing power crisis has become particularly challenging due to the extreme weather conditions, as temperatures continue to rise. Residents are struggling to cope without electricity for extended periods, especially during peak daytime hours.

Students preparing for matriculation and intermediate examinations are also facing serious difficulties, as the lack of electricity is disrupting their study schedules.
