ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has received no bids in its latest tender for the procurement of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo.
Sources in Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) said the country had issued its third LNG tender in September.
According to sources, international suppliers were invited to submit bids for one LNG cargo for delivery between September 12 and 16.
The deadline for submitting bids was September 8. However, no company submitted a bid for the LNG cargo, sources said.
Earlier, the government had cancelled two LNG cargo tenders in September after rejecting the bids received on both occasions because they were considered too expensive.
The latest unsuccessful tender comes as Pakistan continues efforts to secure LNG supplies amid volatile international prices and supply conditions.
