The negotiations committees of the government and the Jammat-e-Islami will hold talks in Islamabad on Friday (October 23) on the issue of petroleum levy slapped on petrol and diesel.
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal established telephonic contact with JI Deputy Amir Liaquat Baloch on Thursday and discuss the issue.
It was also decided that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and JI Amir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman will also hold a meeting.
Liaquat Baloch meanwhile said that the Jamaat will hold countrywide peaceful protest for elimination of petroleum levy on Friday.
