ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified Zartaj Gul, Sahibzada Hamid Raza and Abdul Latif for failing to submit details of their assets and liabilities for the 2024–25 financial year.
The ECP has also issued a written order formally declaring the three former members of the National Assembly ineligible.
According to the Election Commission, Zartaj Gul, Sahibzada Hamid Raza and Abdul Latif were disqualified after failing to submit their annual statements of assets and liabilities within the prescribed period.
The ECP stated that the three former lawmakers would remain disqualified until they submit the required asset declarations.
The commission further said that they are currently ineligible to contest general elections, by-elections, Senate elections and local government elections.
The submission of annual statements of assets and liabilities is a legal requirement for elected representatives. Failure to meet the requirement can result in suspension or disqualification until the outstanding declaration is filed, in accordance with the applicable election laws.
