NAUSHAHRO FEROZE (D.R.): The Diparja branch of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat held its regular literary meeting at the branch office under the chairmanship of District Liaison Secretary Naushahro Feroze, Syed Mukhtiar Ali Shah Mukhtiar.
The gathering was attended by 14 literature enthusiasts, writers, poets, singers and members of the literary community. The meeting featured poetry, ghazals, a Naat, a prose poem and musical performances, providing an opportunity for participants to share their creative work and exchange views on literature.
During the session, several members presented their latest literary contributions. Mohibti Mallah presented a ghazal, while Mashooq Mohsin Abro also recited a ghazal. Raja Nadeem presented a Naat written by himself in connection with the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal. Apa Zareena Mallah presented a prose poem, while Saeed Sheikh performed his composition in tune.
The literary works presented by Mohibti Mallah and Mashooq Mohsin Abro received an enthusiastic response from the participants. Their ghazals were appreciated for their themes, rhythm, flow and artistic expression.
Apa Zareena Mallah’s prose poem also came under discussion during the meeting. Participants praised her work and observed that, in terms of its literary structure and expression, it could more appropriately be described as a fine free verse poem rather than simply prose poetry.
Speaking on the occasion, chairman Syed Mukhtiar Ali Shah Mukhtiar praised Zareena Mallah for her continued participation in literary and social activities. He said that the joint secretary of the Diparja branch was not only associated with literature but also possessed a strong social and intellectual consciousness.
He noted that Zareena regularly attended the branch’s literary meetings and consistently presented her writings. Referring to her latest poem, he described it as a powerful and impressive piece of writing.
Syed Mukhtiar Ali Shah also appreciated her confidence in presenting her work among senior writers and poets. He said that her participation demonstrated the growing involvement of young and emerging writers in literary activities.
Apart from the scheduled literary presentations, several participants shared their views on the works presented during the meeting. Former District Liaison Secretary Subhan Soz Jatoi, Suhail Solangi, Janib Mallah, Jabbar Marri, Imdad Magsi, teacher Bashir Magsi, journalist Molai Zulfiqar Channa and Hassan Raza Magsi also expressed their opinions.
Young singer Abdul Jabbar Marri added a musical dimension to the gathering by performing a ghazal by Syed Mukhtiar Ali Shah and another ghazal by Mohibti Mallah. His performances in tune were warmly received by the audience, who applauded and appreciated his singing.
In his presidential remarks, Syed Mukhtiar Ali Shah recorded his appreciation in the branch’s proceedings book for Secretary Mohibti Mallah and his colleagues for continuing literary activities despite the intense summer heat.
He said that, like previous meetings, the latest regular gathering of the Diparja branch was highly successful and remained focused on literary and cultural activities.
He particularly praised the young singers who performed ghazals and a Kafi in tune, saying their performances received an enthusiastic response from the participants. He also appreciated the ghazals presented by Mashooq Mohsin Abro and Mohibti Mallah, describing them as rich in thought, melody, rhythm, flow and musical expression.
The Naat presented by Raja Nadeem in connection with Rabi-ul-Awwal was also warmly appreciated. Participants responded with expressions of praise and said “Subhan Allah” after his presentation.
Commenting on the progress of the Diparja branch, Syed Mukhtiar Ali Shah said that the branch had achieved significant work in a relatively short period. He expressed confidence that the branch would eventually emerge as one of the most active and prominent branches of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat in Sindh.
He said he hoped that the Diparja branch would continue to develop and one day emerge prominently like the colours of a rainbow among the hardworking literary branches of Sindh.
The meeting began with the recitation of a verse by the legendary Sindhi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. The proceedings concluded with lines by Abdul Hakim Arshad.
The organisers said that the continued holding of regular literary gatherings demonstrated the commitment of the Diparja branch to promoting Sindhi language, literature and cultural activities. Despite the challenging weather conditions, members continued to participate actively and presented their creative works.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for senior writers and younger literary enthusiasts to interact, discuss poetry and encourage emerging talent. Participants emphasised the importance of maintaining such literary forums for the promotion of Sindhi literature and for providing new writers and poets with opportunities to present their work.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all participating members were hosted for a meal. The organisers expressed gratitude to the participants for attending and contributing to the success of the literary gathering.
The Diparja branch has continued to organise literary activities and regular meetings, and its members expressed determination to maintain the momentum in the future. The participants hoped that the branch would continue to play a constructive role in promoting Sindhi literature and encouraging young writers, poets and singers.
