Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that India has been facing continuous setbacks for the past one and a half years, both on the military and diplomatic fronts.
Speaking about the Indus Waters Treaty, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan had successfully maintained its position on the issue and stressed that the agreement could not be unilaterally altered without the consent of both parties.
He said the Indus Waters Treaty had remained in place for nearly 60 years and held significant importance among international agreements.
Khawaja Asif said Pakistan had inspected several upstream projects in India on multiple occasions.
He stressed that it was necessary to closely monitor any intention or action by India that could constitute a violation of the treaty. The defense minister said Pakistan’s position on the fundamental principles of the Indus Waters Treaty remained clear.
