Students, parents and villagers staged a protest and sit-in outside the Mirpurkhas Press Club against the alleged absence of teachers from Government Primary School Haji Allahyar Shar in Hingorno, Taluka Sindhri, for the past eight months.
The protesters, led by Hingorno Town Committee Chairman Rukhsana Shar, Abdul Hameed Shar and school students, raised slogans against Education Officer Nabi Bakhsh Gurgiz.
Speaking to the media, the protesters said that the teachers appointed at the school had allegedly remained absent for eight months, depriving innocent children of their education and putting their academic future at risk.
They said several complaints and applications had been submitted to the concerned Education Officer, but no effective action had been taken so far. The absence of teachers has severely affected the students’ studies.
The protesters demanded that the education authorities immediately appoint teachers at Government Primary School Haji Allahyar Shar and restore the children’s education. They warned that if their demands were not addressed, they would be forced to expand their protest.
