KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi, along with Deputy Commissioner West Ali Zulfiqar Memon, visited the Hub Water Pumping Station of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation and reviewed the city’s water supply system and related issues.
Chairman Manghopir Town Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi and other senior officials were also present during the visit.
Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi briefed the commissioner on the water supply situation, sanitation, waste transportation, ongoing development projects and other civic issues in Manghopir Town.
He said the town administration was taking practical measures to provide basic civic facilities to residents. He added that issues related to sanitation, sewerage, water supply, roads and other public concerns were being addressed on a priority basis.
The commissioner later visited Manghopir Road and inspected ongoing development works. He reviewed the progress of projects and was briefed on issues faced by residents in the area.
The commissioner also visited the Jam Chakro Landfill Site, where he reviewed waste disposal, sanitation and waste transportation arrangements. He inspected the Sindh Solid Waste Management weighing station and reviewed the process of weighing and transporting waste.
He subsequently visited Surjani 4K and reviewed various civic matters.
Commissioner Karachi appreciated the measures being taken by Chairman Manghopir Town Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi to improve civic facilities. He directed concerned officials to strengthen coordination and take practical steps for resolving public issues.
Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi said providing relief to the people of Manghopir Town was the administration’s top priority. He said efforts were underway to address issues related to water supply, sanitation, sewerage and waste transportation and to make public services more effective and efficient.
