MQM Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that raising the slogan of Sindhudesh is not considered treason, while demanding the creation of a new province in Sindh is often labeled as treason.
Speaking at a “Stand With Pakistan” event in Dallas, Siddiqui said Pakistan needs new provinces in line with its growing population. He stressed that new provinces should be created on administrative rather than linguistic grounds.
He questioned why the number of districts and divisions could be increased but the number of provinces could not. According to him, administrative restructuring is necessary to improve governance and address the needs of a growing population.
Siddiqui said the debate over new provinces should focus on better administration, public services, and effective governance rather than ethnic or linguistic identities.
