— the youth are in danger!
In Umerkot district, across both small and large towns as well as villages, the illegal trade of dangerous drugs such as charas, heroin, ice (crystal meth), along with gutka, locally brewed alcohol (tharra), and whiskey is increasing day by day. As a result, the younger generation is reaching the brink of destruction.
According to local residents, drugs are being sold openly, but the concerned authorities are still acting as silent spectators. Parents are deeply worried that their children may fall into this menace.
Key Points:
School and college-going youth are also becoming victims of drug abuse
Drug dealers are operating without fear
Allegations of negligence against police and administration
Increase in crime rate in the area
Citizens have demanded that the government, especially the Sindh Police, take immediate action against drug dealers and implement strict measures to save the youth.
If timely action is not taken, the situation may worsen further and an entire generation could be at risk.
Umerkot, including Dhoronaro, Pithoro, Shadi Palli, Bachaband, Ghulam Nabi Shah and other small and large towns and stops, are under the grip of drugs
