DADU, August 31: Retired employees of the Municipal Committee Dadu staged a strong protest against the non-payment of their outstanding salaries, pensions and other financial dues, with the municipal office echoing with slogans against the administration.
A large number of retired employees gathered at the Municipal Committee Dadu office and held a demonstration in support of their legitimate demands. The protesters carried banners and placards bearing slogans and demanded the immediate release of their pending salaries, pension payments and other legal dues.
During the protest, the municipal office resonated with slogans as the employees called upon the administration to resolve their longstanding financial problems without further delay.
Retired Employees Face Financial Hardship
Speaking to the media, the protesting retirees said they had served the Municipal Committee Dadu for many years with honesty, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility. However, they claimed that despite completing their service and retiring, they were being deprived of their legitimate financial rights.
They said the non-payment of outstanding salaries, pensions and other lawful dues had created serious financial difficulties for them and their families.
The retirees pointed out that many of them were elderly and had significant household responsibilities. For them, pension payments and outstanding dues were an essential source of income needed to meet their daily expenses.
They said that rising inflation had made their situation even more difficult, while delays in receiving pensions and other payments were severely affecting the financial stability of their households.
Repeated Appeals Remain Unresolved
The protesting employees expressed disappointment that despite repeatedly approaching the relevant authorities and the Municipal Committee administration, their financial problems had not been permanently resolved.
They demanded that all outstanding salaries, pensions and other lawful dues be released immediately without any further delay.
The retirees said they had already waited for a long period and could no longer afford continued uncertainty regarding their payments.
They appealed to the Sindh government, district administration and senior authorities to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure that their pending financial obligations were cleared.
Warning of Wider Protest
The retired employees warned that if their legitimate demands were not addressed promptly and their outstanding payments were not released, they would be compelled to expand their protest.
They said responsibility for any further escalation would rest with the concerned authorities and the Municipal Committee administration.
The protesters urged the Sindh government and other relevant authorities to intervene immediately, arrange payment of their pending salaries, pensions and other dues, and provide a permanent solution to the issue.
