SUKKUR: A grand and dignified farewell ceremony was held at the Government Comprehensive Higher Secondary School Sukkur in honour of Senior Principal Abdul Ghafoor Arain on the occasion of his retirement, in recognition of his long and exemplary educational and administrative services.
A large number of senior officials of the Education Department, teachers, school staff and students attended the ceremony.
The chief guest was Hafiz Shahabuddin Indhar, Director of School Education, Sukkur Region. Ghulam Murtaza Shah, District Education Officer Sukkur, and Javed Hameed Qureshi, Deputy District Education Officer Sukkur, attended the event as guests of honour.
During the ceremony, Hafiz Shahabuddin Indhar paid tribute to Abdul Ghafoor Arain for his remarkable and dedicated services. In recognition of his professional contributions, he honoured the retiring principal by presenting him with a traditional Sindhi turban (Pag) and draping him in an Ajrak. He also presented him with a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative shield.
Ghulam Murtaza Shah and Javed Hameed Qureshi also draped Abdul Ghafoor Arain in Ajraks and highly appreciated his educational and administrative services.
Teachers and clerical staff of the school, including Muhammad Ramzan Lashari, Saeed Ahmed and Abdul Haleem Chachar, along with other colleagues, paid tribute to the retiring principal by presenting him with flower garlands and bidding him farewell with respect and affection.
Principal Badruddin Bhiyo and teacher Ehsan Ali Mahar welcomed the distinguished guests by presenting them with Ajraks in keeping with Sindhi cultural traditions.
Students Pay Tribute to Retiring Principal
A special moment during the ceremony came when the school’s students presented a salute to Senior Principal Abdul Ghafoor Arain during the assembly.
The gesture made the farewell particularly memorable and reflected the respect and affection the students had developed for their principal during his years of service.
Addressing the ceremony, Director of School Education Sukkur Region Hafiz Shahabuddin Indhar and District Education Officer Sukkur Ghulam Murtaza Shah praised Abdul Ghafoor Arain’s educational, administrative and humanitarian services.
They said his hard work, sense of duty, administrative skills and commitment to the education sector would remain a source of inspiration for young teachers and education officers.
They also acknowledged his contribution to the institution and appreciated his professional dedication throughout his career.
Retiring Principal Thanks Education Community
In his address, Abdul Ghafoor Arain thanked the officials of the Education Department, his colleagues, teachers, clerical staff and students for organising the farewell ceremony and for their support throughout his professional career.
Sharing his experiences from his years of service, he said that hard work, honesty, punctuality and sincerity were essential for achieving success and fulfilling one’s goals in life.
He encouraged teachers and students to remain committed to their responsibilities and to perform their duties with honesty and dedication.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Abdul Ghafoor Arain’s good health, prosperity and long life after retirement.
