Ali Larijani, Secretary-General of Iran’s National Security Council, has declared that Iran is prepared for a prolonged conflict and is committed to defending its 6,000-year-old civilization. Speaking in a public statement, Larijani emphasized that Iran’s response will ensure that adversaries regret any miscalculations.
Larijani stressed that, similar to past conflicts over the last 300 years, Iran did not initiate hostilities but will firmly defend its national and cultural heritage. He highlighted that the country is fully prepared for a long-term struggle, regardless of the costs involved, and warned that enemies underestimating Iran’s resolve would face consequences.
In a related statement, Ayatollah Ali Reza Arafi, a member of Iran’s Interim Leadership Council, criticized recent US and Israeli attacks on Iran, describing them as misguided and based on flawed assessments. In his first statement since joining the council, Arafi labeled the foreign actions against Iran as wrong, inappropriate, and unjust.
He also affirmed that the leadership council will execute its duties with vigilance and preparedness, signaling a coordinated and proactive approach to national security and defense.
These remarks reflect Iran’s dual focus on strategic defense and cultural preservation amid heightened regional tensions, reinforcing Tehran’s position that it seeks to protect its sovereignty while preparing for potential long-term military engagements.
