Islamabad: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that bookings for the Private Hajj Scheme through the Hajj Portal will continue until the allocated quota is filled.
According to the ministry’s statement, the government’s decision to make the Hajj operation fully digital is showing positive results.
The ministry said that all seats allocated for the Government Hajj Scheme were filled within just seven days.
The 20- to 25-day short Hajj package received a particularly strong response, with all available seats booked within the first 24 hours.
The ministry further said that the remaining seats for the long Hajj package were expected to be filled by noon.
Bookings for the Private Hajj Scheme will remain open through the Hajj Portal until the private scheme’s quota is completed.
The ministry described the completion of all government Hajj seats within seven days as an important achievement. The collection of Hajj dues began during the night between August 18 and 19.
Officials said the strong response to the digital booking system indicates that the government’s efforts to make the Hajj process more transparent, efficient and technology-based are gaining momentum.
