The federal government on Monday decided to pay Rs30 per unit of electricity to officers of the Power Division from BS-17 to BS-21 instead of free units.

The federal government will pay Rs15,858 to BS-17 officers for using 450 units. Rs21,990 will be paid to officers of BS-18 for using 600 electricity units.

Grade-19 officers will be paid Rs37,594 instead of the 880-unit allowance. Grade-20 officers will get Rs46,992 instead of the 1,100-unit allowance. Grade-21 officers will be paid Rs55,536.

The free supply of electricity had been discontinued in light of a High Court ruling.

The Power Division had issued a notification regarding the discontinuation of the free supply.
