LARKANA: An important meeting of the Pensioners’ Action Committee was held in Larkana, where Sindh Pensioners’ Action Committee Chairman Agha Bashir Ahmed Tareen, Sukkur Region Coordinator Ehsan Ahmed Sheikh and Sukkur Region Secretary Barkat Ali Shah participated.

During the meeting, the participants congratulated Abdul Waheed Seth on his selection as the new President of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP). They expressed hope that the new president would take effective measures to address the legitimate concerns and longstanding problems faced by pensioners.

Speaking at the meeting, Agha Bashir Ahmed Tareen discussed various issues confronting pensioners and particularly highlighted their demands for an increase in pensions under the annual budget and improvement in medical allowances.

He said pensioners were facing difficulties due to rising living costs and medical expenses and called for practical measures to provide them with financial relief. He emphasized that pensioners who had served the country and their institutions throughout their careers deserved appropriate support and facilities.

The meeting also discussed other problems being faced by pensioners and stressed the need for continued efforts to resolve these issues through appropriate forums.

Participants said that pension-related matters require sustained attention from relevant institutions and authorities. They emphasized the importance of taking effective steps to ensure that pensioners receive their entitled benefits without unnecessary difficulties.

The meeting also expressed full confidence in the central leadership of the Pensioners’ Action Committee, particularly Central General Secretary Zafar Sadiq and other members of the central leadership.

Agha Bashir Ahmed Tareen expressed hope that the newly appointed president of the National Bank of Pakistan would play an effective role in addressing the legitimate demands of pensioners.

He particularly called for attention to the issue of pension increases announced through the annual budget and the improvement of medical allowances. He said these matters were of significant importance to pensioners and required serious consideration.

The participants reiterated their commitment to continuing their efforts for the rights and welfare of pensioners. They said the committee would continue raising pensioners’ concerns through peaceful and lawful means and would pursue their demands with the relevant authorities.

The meeting concluded with renewed confidence in the leadership of the Pensioners’ Action Committee and hopes that the concerns of pensioners, particularly regarding pension increases and medical allowances, would receive greater attention in the future.
