Civil Defence Conducts Detailed Route Inspection for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal Procession in Sukkur

SUKKUR: On the special instructions of Sindh Civil Defence Director Riaz Hussain Laghari and Sukkur Deputy Commissioner and Controller Civil Defence Nadir Shehzad Khan, the Civil Defence Warden Service Sukkur conducted a detailed inspection of the route planned for the central 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ procession.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the procession route, review security and safety arrangements, identify potential risks and ensure that Civil Defence wardens are assigned their responsibilities effectively. Officials also examined arrangements aimed at facilitating participants and maintaining order throughout the procession.

The route inspection was supervised by Sukkur Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence Dr Saeed Awan and Civil Defence Office In-charge Sukkur Mian Jahangir Abbasi. During the visit, officials reviewed the procession route as well as public facilitation measures and emergency preparedness arrangements.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saeed Awan said that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came into the world as a benefactor of humanity and that his teachings emphasize peace, love, brotherhood and service to humanity.

He said the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ conveys a message of peace, harmony and love not only for Muslims but for humanity as a whole. He added that the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet ﷺ is commemorated with devotion and respect by Muslims around the world.

Dr Awan said it was a great honor for Civil Defence wardens to provide services during the central Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ procession. He emphasized that wardens perform their duties with a spirit of service, discipline and devotion, contributing to the safety and convenience of citizens.

He further said that serving the public during such religious gatherings provides Civil Defence personnel with an opportunity to fulfill their responsibilities and contribute to the protection of people and property.

Mian Jahangir Abbasi, In-charge of the Sukkur Civil Defence Office, said the Civil Defence Warden Service Sukkur remains committed to providing comprehensive safety services at major religious and public gatherings.

He said Civil Defence wardens would perform their responsibilities effectively during the central 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal procession and would remain prepared to respond to any emergency situation.

The route inspection was attended by Group Warden Muhammad Ahmed Sheikh, Post Warden Sheikh Adnan and Mahmood Ahmed, along with In-charge Officers Muhammad Asif Sheikh, Lala Imran Mirani, Muhammad Yousuf, Riaz Ahmed Siddiqui and Ahsan Rajput.

Other officials and members of the Civil Defence Warden Service also participated in the inspection and reviewed preparations for the procession.

The Civil Defence Warden Service Sukkur expressed its commitment to using all available resources to ensure the safety and security of citizens during the central Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ procession.

Officials said particular attention would be given to maintaining discipline, facilitating the public and responding promptly to any emergency or unforeseen situation. The route inspection was part of preparations to ensure that the religious procession proceeds in an organized and safe environment.

The Civil Defence authorities reiterated that their personnel would remain vigilant throughout the event and coordinate their responsibilities to help protect the lives and property of participants and the wider public.

The preparations reflect the administration’s focus on strengthening safety measures ahead of the 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal celebrations in Sukkur. Civil Defence personnel are expected to remain deployed along the procession route and assist citizens wherever required.

Authorities have also emphasized the importance of discipline and coordinated emergency response during large public gatherings. Through advance route inspections and proper deployment of wardens, officials aim to minimize risks and ensure effective management of the procession.
